Rotating your rugs will allow them to wear more evenly, maintaining their original appearance and value. Using Padding Good quality padding protects the rug especially in heavily trafficked areas. The use of the proper padding is critical for handmade rugs. Use a quality rug pad underneath and choose the correct pad depending on the surface your rug is sitting on, be it wood or carpet.
